Funsky 913 Drone review
The Funsky 913 drone, although it might seem unlucky from the title, is actually pretty well made.
The overall build looks quite a lot like a racing drone and the frame is made from high quality materials.
This drone has a double purpose, it can be a very fun to fly drone while also acting as a capable 1080p GPS camera drone.
It’s the first drone I see capable of flying in sport mode while still in GPS.
Overall you should keep reading if you’re interested in a nimble camera drone that records footage in quite good quality. Its solid build is what you should focus on the most.
Usually, when it comes to more advanced camera drones, they come with a way to stabilize the drone on the spot. I’m talking about GPS or optical flow cameras.
Funsky 913: GPS
Battery life for camera drones should be at least 10 minutes per flight.
Take in account spare batteries!
Funsky 913: 12min real life flight (15 min advertised)
Flight range can really change what sorts of images you can capture.
Funsky 913: 300m (make sure you phone works with 802.11 ac wifi)
Camera resolution isn’t everything. Colors, sharpness and bitrate are very important for the overall image.
Funsky 913: 1080p, video sample bellow
If I had to pinpoint the most important factor in a camera drone, it would be Image Stabilization. A 4k unstable camera has worse results than a gimbal stabilized 720p one.
Funsky 913: no stabilization (camera can be moved by hand)
Considering this drone is a bit more expensive than the Tello, it competes with drones between $100 and $200 and I consider it to be quite a viable option as a camera drone in this interval.
Although it may not have a gimbal, it still takes pretty stable footage thanks to the stability of the drone itself.
The flight range is also pretty standard, but keep in mind that you need to have a phone that supports 802.11ac wifi!
Else the live feed won’t work!

Funsky 913 Video Review
In this video, Quadcopter101 reviews the drone while also doing a range test and battery life test.
The camera can swivel up and down before flight and looks pretty solid and good quality compared to many others on the market.
The image quality is standard 1080p and the framerate is pretty smooth. It’s not something you should compare with drones like the DJI Spark, but it can definitely be good enough for exploring places, recording for fun and posting on social media.
I was pretty surprised with the overall quality of the footage and I don’t think anyone can do better for the price.
There’s also no lag or frames skipped because everything is saved directly on the micro SD card and not on the phone.
As you can see on the controller it has a Return to Home button.
The return to home precision is pretty good at maximum of one meter from the starting point.
There’s also the option to put it in sport mode, as we talked about before.
The difference in speed is from 3m/s in base speed to 5m/s in sport mode.
The transmitter also has a built in battery.
One really important factor about this drone is the silent propellers.
I simply love the sound they make, as it’s not loud and annoying like many drones currently on the market.
For the current price, considering how many features it has and the fact that it's very portable and built with high quality, I''d say it's a pretty good buy. I rated it so high at 9.5 out of 10 because I simply like flying it and it's incredibly silent.
