SJRC F11 - 5G brushless GPS drone
The SJRC F11 is one of the more serious drones released by the company lately, as they do have a strong history with toy drones.
It comes with more advanced features like GPS, brushless motors, follow me and quite a good range.
All this for an affordable price. Don’t expect the camera to be great, but it’s a 1080p one that you can move from the transmitter.
This is a very important factor for great camera drones. However, at this price, we can’t ask for much out of a drone like this.
The SJRC F11 doesn’t come with any video stabilization, but because it works with GPS, it has quite a stable flight and stays fixed in the air. This means It will get a smoother video than a standard toy drone.
You should look for the following in a drone if you want good image stability:
- A 2 or preferably 3 axis gimbal is the best possible way to stabilize a camera. It’s usually found in more expensive builds.
- Electronic image stabilization. Drones like Parrot Bebop 2 or even the cheaper Tello have it.
- Get yourself a GO Pro drone and use a very stable Action cam with electronic or optical image stabilization!
The battery life for this drone is advertised at 25 minutes, but I would say it’s best to consider it to fly for under 20 min if you want to be safe.
Even so, it has quite a lot of time in the air, and that’s great for capturing a lot of footage on the Micro SD card.

The main point of this drone is the GPS, and that will be a big help if you simply want to let the drone hover in the air, even if there’s wind. That way you can learn the controls or maybe take a look of what you can record next
Drones with gps usually come with the following options (including this one):
- return to home (by button press)
- return to home when battery is low
- follow me
- circle around
The price is something that makes this drone quite worth getting.
The camera isn’t going to take amazing footage, but the combination of the other features and even the ability to move the camera up or down smoothly can make up for some of its imperfections.
It’s also foldable, so there’s more space next to it in your backpack.
These days most drones try to copy the DJI mavic format, yet this one actualy does have a good overall unique design.

The transmitter for the SJRC F11 is quite well made, with a compact design, trying to copy the one from the DJI Spark a bit.
The bottom arms can be folded for a better grip, just as well as with the antennas.
It comes with:
- a return to home button (that gets the drone back to max 2 m from the point it launched from)
- automatic landing and launching
- a scroll wheel to change camera angle
- wheel for changing speed level
- LEDs for showing different stats
As mentioned before, the GPS on this drone allows for the standard follow and circle around functions.
The follow function actually works by drawing a box around the tracked subject you prefer.
The camera doesn’t come with a gimbal, so it’s not stabilized.
A motorized gimbal would cost quite a lot at this price and putting EIS on this would also mean more processing power and probably cutting from the sensor resolution a bit.
It does come with the ability to tilt 90 degrees from a dial on the transmitter so you can better capture whatever you want.
The application comes with quite a few interesting functions including the ability to return home and follow as you can see in the image.
A pretty cheap drone with a good build quality and decent camera.
