The Mini 5 Pro keeps everything under 250 grams and skips the telephoto. The tracking quality gap between them is smaller than you'd expect from the $326 price difference.

- LiDAR is forward-facing only, so it still has blind spots during sideways tracking or backward flight
- Fixed f/1.8 aperture needs ND filters for cinematic shutter speeds in daylight
- Pricey for a Mini at $759, the same as the Mini 4 Pro, so you are paying for the sensor not the size
Price Range
The Air 3S costs $1,099 through official DJI channels (US availability may require third-party retailers due to FCC Covered List status).
The Mini 5 Pro costs $729-773 through grey-market imports since DJI doesn't sell it officially in the US either. Neither drone has straightforward US pricing. The Air 3S at least has a list price.
The Mini 5 Pro's price fluctuates by importer. For the Fly More bundles, expect roughly $1,599 for the Air 3S and $1,000-1,100 for the Mini 5 Pro.

Camera System
Both have 1-inch wide-angle sensors. The Air 3S adds a 3x telephoto lens (1/1.3-inch sensor), giving you two focal lengths without moving the drone. The Mini 5 Pro has a single wide-angle camera only.

Our Verdict
The Mini 5 Pro if weight, portability, and no FAA registration are priorities. The tracking quality is essentially the same (both use LiDAR + ActiveTrack 360°), and the 1-inch sensor produces comparable wide-angle footage. The Air 3S if you want the telephoto lens, longer battery, and Cycling Mode. The extra $326 buys a second camera and 9 more minutes of flight time. For dedicated follow-me use during cycling or extended hikes, those additions justify the weight and cost.
