Most consumer drones have fixed apertures, which makes choosing ND filters straightforward. The wider the aperture (lower f-number), the more light enters the lens, and the stronger the ND filter you need.
Drones like the DJI Mini 4 Pro and DJI Flip with f/1.7 apertures let in significantly more light than the DJI Neo at f/2.8. This means f/1.7 drones typically need 1-2 stops stronger ND filters in the same conditions. A sunny day that calls for ND32 on a f/2.8 drone might need ND64 or even ND128 on a f/1.7 drone.
Note: For most drone pilots, a set of ND8, ND16, ND32, and ND64 covers the vast majority of shooting conditions. If you fly a lot during golden hour or overcast days, the lighter ND4 and ND8 will get the most use.
