Best DJI Flip Accessories in 2026: 7 Worth Buying

The Flip is new enough that the third-party accessory market is still catching up. Most of what's available right now falls into two categories: official DJI accessories (good but expensive) and early third-party products of varying quality. We filtered for:

The Flip has a fixed f/1.7 aperture. That's a wide lens that lets in a lot of light, which is great for low-light performance and indoor flying. In bright daylight, it becomes a problem. The camera compensates by running the shutter speed up to 1/2000s or faster, which produces footage that looks sharp frame-by-frame but choppy in motion. Every pan and tilt has that staccato quality that screams "phone video."

The 180-degree shutter rule

For natural-looking motion blur, your shutter speed should be roughly double the frame rate. At 30fps that's 1/60s. At 60fps it's 1/120s. On a bright day without filters, the Flip exposes at 1/1000s or faster. The difference in playback is obvious.

ND filters reduce the light hitting the sensor so you can hold a slower shutter speed without overexposing. The DJI set includes ND16 (overcast to golden hour), ND64 (standard sunny conditions), and ND256 (harsh midday, snow, water reflection). There is a gap where an ND32 would be useful for partly cloudy days, but the three included filters cover most real situations.

DJI official vs. third-party filters

The DJI set costs $55 for three filters. STARTRC sells a 4-pack (ND16/64/128/CPL) for $33 on Amazon. The DJI glass is better coated and less likely to introduce color cast, but the STARTRC set is a legitimate budget alternative if you want more filter variety for less money. Both use the same push-twist mount specific to the Flip.

The Flip ships with one 3110mAh battery rated for 31 minutes. In practice, with any wind and normal maneuvering, expect 22-25 minutes per charge. That's one flight. If you plan to spend any real time outside with this drone, you need spares.

How many batteries do you actually need?

Three batteries is the sweet spot for most people. That gives you roughly 65-75 minutes of real flight time before you're waiting on a charge. Two batteries feels thin once you account for flight time lost to setup, framing, and landing. Four is overkill unless you're doing all-day content shoots.

The Parallel Charging Hub

DJI's Flip charging hub is an upgrade from older Mini series hubs. It charges two batteries simultaneously instead of sequentially, so two dead batteries reach full in about 70 minutes with a 65W USB-C charger. It also has a power accumulation feature that redistributes leftover charge between partially drained batteries, and it doubles as a power bank for your phone or controller.

The catch: you need a 65W USB-C Power Delivery charger. Lower-wattage chargers work but the hub falls back to sequential charging, which defeats the purpose. If you travel with a laptop, you probably already have a charger that works. Otherwise, Anker and Ugreen both sell 65W GaN chargers for around $25-30.
